Laptops & Notebooks - May 2007

I like to be able to play any DVD from any Region on my Laptop DVD. Currently I am resticted to Region2 , but I have DVD's from Region1, which I can not play.

Does Anyone know with certainty which software will enable me to play all Regions on my Matchita DVD-RAM UJ 8225

how can you stop automatic downloads when you get online.i did a systems check on my laptop and it said in the temporary files i had over 800,000 mbs downloaded while i was online last night.does anyone know how to stop this??????

my problem is that i have a powerbook g4 12'' al,
and the optical drive works fine but it won't eject the disc inside
, it makes a lot of noise but that's all
i don't know what to do or try

I bought my laptop 1 week ago(Toshiba Satellite) with 1 year international warranty.It came with Vista on it but i want to uninstall it and run XP.Does anybody know if my warranty would be still valid if i install another Windows?Thanks a lot..:)

I have an acer laptop and it switch on and off it's fan at a fixed interval, I know it's useful but still find it annoying sometime, and the air it's blowing out ain't warm or hot (nice and cool) and maybe the fan isn't needed to turn on all the time?

My Laptop is M-life (Hyundai) M521N with Core Duo T2050 1.6GHZ, DDR2 1.49G, Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Controller 0. Currently running Vista Ultimate. Previously using XP Professional SP2. It was allright before upgrade to VISTA. I can use the web cam. After installing Vista, I cannot locate the webcam. I even tried the Device Manager, It still fail to detect the web cam. Software from the LAPTOP manufacturer is support until XP only. Anyway to solve it?

i have a wacom ArtPad 2 TABLET (KT model) for windows, and i was wondering how i can hook this thing up to my laptop. the manufacturer (wacom) said that it has to be hooked up using a s-video port (which is on my laptop). so, i tried that, and nothing worked. i even downloaded the latest driver for it, but that didn't work either. any suggestions? 10 points for the best answer! please help!!!!

I am having ATI Radeon 9000 graphics card. I got the driver from ati website. But I couldn't install it. When I try to install it shows "Video Driver not found" .. what is the cause of this ?

i got a gateway notebook almost a year ago, but now the the charger doesn't work. it's not really the charger though, it's where you plug into the charger that's messed up. i'm very sure that the only thing that could fix this is replacing the laptop. i have the serial number, and i made the acount at gateway, and stuff like that. now howdo i get replace my laptop?

I have just upgraded my laptop and now have two 512mb RAM sticks just sitting around. Are there companies that will buy your old RAM from you? Are there orginizations that will take RAM donations (schools, libraries, etc..)? It just seems like I should be doing something with it. If you have any ideas please let me know.

I had purchased a HP laptop a month ago, and somehow i am facing a problem like it takes at least 20 min. to warm up, means when I hit power button and I start to work something on it, it need 20min to work something. in between I can not do anything. If I hit anything it saws processing and start late. Also my laptop takes some more time to shut down compare to before. What should i do?

My brother gave me his laptop to look at. It boots up to the desktop screen but comes up with a message saying that there are spyware and infections in his computer. Apparently this only happened when he installed Norton. No programs will open and after about 4 minutes, the screen starts to dissappear from the top down until there is nothing to see on desktop except his background pic.

I have started laptop in safemode with prompts but am not sure of what commands to type to:

1. Remove Norton so i can work the problem out on desktop and install a program to destroy the infections.

2. Type commands to completely reformatt the HDD on the laptop and start all over again.

Would be appreciated if anyone has any differnt ideas too on this topic.

I just got a hp pavilion dv9335nr notebook PC, and it comes with vista. I have a copy of XP professional w/ sp2 which i got from my college, which i am alomst positive is a full version. i was told i could just plop it in a boom back to XP, but nope. I try rebooting the machine with the XP disk , but it tells me that it can't find any hard drive. Please help. If anyone knows how I can install XP, that would be amazing.

I was reading and the new Apple computers can run different types of Operating Systems with an approved licesned copy. Does this mean I can play The Sims2 on the Apple computer even though it runs for Windows XP? Please tell me so! I really want one for college, gaming, photo and video editing.
