I installed a 256MB stick of ram in my laptop, so that now it has 2x265mb sticks. But it only registers 448MB. And I know it is the correct ram because I installed it from a computer that is the exact same model.......Compaq 2100

the laptop will turn on, there is sound. but, the screen is black.
I have tryed to turn up the light. Nothing is working.

is there some adapter that could make my laptop keyboard connect to my desktop through usb or something? it would be really cool to have my thinkpad keyboard for my desktop >] and yes i have disassembled the laptop many times before so no worries on the warranty etc

i get this error when i try to switch on the pc.. nothing will load thats the first thing i get then i have to restart the laptop a couple of times before it starts loading the bios and other stuff and one more thing i can only switch it on on safe mode anyhelp?????

So i just bought this new laptop and im really excited about it because we have been putting it off for a really long time, and now i actualy have it. But i want to use the built in web cam ad mic, however i dont see any buttons, or anything to click to activate it, or get to to it. I have used the search tool, looked in the manual, and tried a few various things, but found nothing related to it. But i have absolutley no clue how to get to it so that i can use it. So if you know how please let me know. My notebook is a HP Pavilion dv23 10us . Any help is appriciated.

I bought a new Macbook Pro and I want to completely erase and restore my Powerbook G4 and sell it. Unfortunately, I no longer have the Installer Disk for it, and I can't use the Intel-based disks on it. Anyone know of a way to do it?

I have an Advent Media Centre PC. Recently I had to "flatten" the system and reinstall windows after a series of problems with it. Initially, the sound drivers were lost, which I was able to restore from disc. However, there is no disk to install the Media Centre software. Does anyone know how I can restore the Media Centre Software, so my computer runs in its out of the box state? I've only had it a few months, so it's still under warranty.

Please note: I am referring to a Media Centre computer, not Windows Media Player, which is a different thing.

I hope someone can help me resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

obviously not great with computers. question is, what is the best one for the money looking for a laptop. price range is up to 700.00. looking for a pc, not going to be gaming with it and do not care to watch movies on it. just want the best one for the money from a business standpoint. using for pictures surfing the net, email and most other things computers used for. another question. what is the difference between intel pentium duo and celeron M. which is better what are the adventages. ect. thanks for the help.
