I'm not sure if you can do it if it's dead.. I know that you can attach some kind of wire or something from one computer to the next and extract info. I would ask BestBuy or someplace of that sort.

Depends on if the hard drive (the part where all the data is stored) is the part that broke, and how badly damaged it is if it did actually break. Inside your laptop there is a hard drive, usually behind a panel on the bottom of your laptop. You can remove this drive and plug it into another laptop, or a PC that is modified to take hard drives. It won't be easy for a beginner, google for more information.

to get information off your laptop that doesn't work any more, open it up and take out the motherboard, hard drive, that kind of stuff. Then put it into a computer that works and copy all the information.

Take out the hard drive, normally under the notebook or pull from the side . then get a USB2 external casing for 2.5" drives, insert the drive into it, plug the USB cable into another computer and the content should show up

If the drive is still ok you can remove it and fit it in an external USB drive enclosure, then connect it to your machine to read it.

Remove HD, plug it into another computer, designate it as a drive, and try to access it.
