I'm not a gamer so I'm not looking for a high end video card. However, I do want to be able to play media on my computer on my TV. Any recommendations?

Their is only one power lead socket on the main computer box. Normally isn't there 2. One to plug into the mains socket and one to power the monitor. I can't work it out. Cheers.

I am in the process of building a gaming computer and was wondering what version ram I should get. Will I notice an improvement in with the better ram speeds, or is it just something that will end up costing more than good it will do. Additionally, I read somewhere about an even faster ram type called Rambus DRAM, is that worth the money for the improvement in system performance?

Also, I haven't purchased the motherboard yet, and was wondering if most higher end ($200-$300) motherboards will support the ddr3 sdram memory type, and will I need an even higher end mobo to support RDRAM?

Do these memory types draw more power than the predecessors?

This will be my first build, so any additional advice would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Right now there is a problem with these high-end video cards requiring more than 500 Watts of power minimum, and if things keep going this way they'll require 1000 watts soon..

when will that change?

I have to transfer a some songs onto our other computer. It's kind of old and doesn't have any usb things, so I can't use a flash drive and I don't have the actual cd anymore, either. I have 2 floppy disks that are big enough to hold all the songs but when I put it into the other computer it said that the floppy disk was write protected, so I switched the little tab and put it back in, and it still said it was write protected. I tried it with the other one and the same thing happened. Can floppy disks be permanently write protected? I'm guessing I can't do anything about that then, eh?

This is an excerpt from "Microsoft Windows Movie Maker - A Visual Guide"
I'm assuming you have a FireWire connector or card installed in your computer. If you don"t, start there, and make sure it is up and running. Don't spend too much money on the connector; for your purposes, virtually all cards will serve equally well, from the $19.00 variety on up, and they all plug into an available PCI card slot inside your PC. Choosing one with at least two ports will allow you to connect both your camcorder and a FireWire hard drive, if you need additional storage space for your captured video."
Is FireWire a hard drive or a PCI card or a actual wire?
I am trying to learn how to transfer video from my DV video camera to the computer to edit it, then to possible youtube or DVD. Please help.

I have a game that reccommends 128(+) MB Video Card, and I'm not sure what the NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE is. I've looked through my computer and online everywhere, and can't seem to find out. Anyway...the game is a bit laggy, and I'm wondering if the NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE is only a 64MB or less video card, and if I need to upgrade. I know that integrated video cards almost always suck *** so I probably do need a different one. But first I want to know if this video card is less than 128MB or not.

Thanks for the help,
Matt
