You plug it in the little hole on the back (or sometimes front) marked microphone or with a symbol showing an arrow going into a circle. You then run a program that collects the stuff you say or uses it. You can find two helpful programs on Start / All Programs / Accessories / Entertainment. Volume control allows you to control the output volume to your speakers or earphones and input volume from various sources including mike. Sound Recorder allows you to create files of recorded sound in WMA format. To get other formats, you will have to get a program like Audicity which controls recording or Switch which changes formats.

plug into the hole has microphone symbol. make sure your computer has sound card, fi not sure, ask whoever you bought it from. Do...start...control panel, select the 'Sound and Audio Devices'...the 'speaker symbol'...follows the instruction to run a test.

it usually has a connection hole for one and is usually marked by a microphone symbol just connect and it should come on screen with directions to be able to use it
