Ok im completely stuck.

This is my rig:
amd x2 4200 @4430
OCZ 667 2gb dual channel ram
ultra x2 550 modular psu
BFG Tech 7600 gt @ 626/770
MSI k9n sli platinum (570 sli)

OK, which card? 8800 gts 320 or 2900pro HD 512?
My intentions are to OC the 2900pro to XT speeds.

My goal is Crysis at 1280/1024

the 8800 will be better i think but if u want to max crysis u may need to run two in sli ..

no rely how lots you overclock the 320MB version of the 8800GTS, it won't carry out like the 640MB version, because of the fact video RAM has not something to do with uncooked velocity. The greater video RAM, the better resolutions on textures it could look after. i don't propose any ATI enjoying cards, because of the fact the highend 2900 sequence struggles even against the 8800GTS. 550W is sufficient for one card, yet not for SLI. I extraordinarily propose saving up money for the 640MB 8800GTS.

Get the HD2900 Pro. It is really just an underclocked 2900XT and could overclock to XT level. Overclocked at that level, it definitely outperforms the stock 8800GTS. See the 2900XT benchmark here:

I would say 8800 gts
NVIDIA graphic cards are more relyable
ATI graphic cards use almost twice as much energy as a NVIDIA.(500watt to 250-300watt)
