Add-ons - July 2007

I'm buying a new PC soon...andi want to buy the graphics card seperate. Which of these cards will give me the most FPS in games like CS:S and Halo. I definately don't want to go over $280.. but i prefer to go under $250.

XFX GeForce 7900 GS XXX 256 MB($150)
XFX GeForce 7950 GT 512 MB ($270)
XFX GeForce 7950 GT 256 MB ($225)

Which should i get, or another recommedation.

I have a 20 gb drive that is full so I added a 80gb slave I then dragged a Lot of files from c to h drive but I am still not gaining space on my c drive. after I copy and paste to H drive I delete the file on C but still nothing also I have 3 user accounts on xp and want to have everything seperated on the H drive

Ok There Was This Employee At Circuit City And She Gave me a 2700 ddr and i have a 2100 ddr and my max is 2100 ddr and i dont know much about pcs my friend just told me all this. soo if i put them together will it smoke cause i did it cause i was stupid and some smoke that smells really bad came out. soo if i put a 2100 and 2700 ddr together and my max ddr is 2100 , an soo is that why my computer started smoking when i opened it?

A few minutes ago, when i ask the question of how do I or how should i complete the task. Hey guys. I just needed some advice before I buy this video card. My computer is a compaq deskpro with 256 ram (witch i'm upgrading to the 700's soon with a 512mb ram). It has an intel pentuim 3 and right now is holding an old graphics card witch is an ati rage pro 8mb 2x graphics card. This graphics card says It supports 2x slots. So will it work with my computer? Is there aything I have to do to use it cuz' the system requirments dont stray to far from my comp. It's pritty much good, but I want to be sure. This for gaming. No i'm not getting a new computer. 1: should i get a DirectX 10 card? ---- a few weeks ago i was gona get a Geforce 7600 GT cause its cheap and plays a few games i wanna play
2: are DirectX10 cards compatible with DirectX9? ---- i have no idea why but people are saying this and i wanna get my facts straight.
3: other than DirectX10, is it a good idea to upgrade to Vista? ---- i looked around and saw that HOLYCRAP a bunch of games arnt playable on vista! wth? i wanna stay with XP cause it has more games, or at least until a few more games are for vista that are for XP also.
4: whats a good cheap (50 - 150) card for DirectX10 and 9 (one for each)

I found this and I have a question,I have 320 RAM on my computer. 128+128+64.
But I was told that "all the memory sticks in your machine will run at the speed of the slowest stick installed."
So should I remove the 64 RAM stick?

Ok, recently my computer had a virus so to fix it me and my friend wiped windows after saving all of my stuff to a flash drive. We got everything working right again (internet, drivers, etc.) but one problem bothers and eludes me. We can't upload my files back because my computer won't read the flash stick (or any flash stick, even my camera card) through the USB ports. I checked "My Computer" and saw that it only has my hard drive (disc C) when it usually has a bunch of removable discs (a, b, g, h, whatever) since it doesn't have these I assume thats the problem. If that is the problem, how do I fix it? and if that isn't the problem, can anyone tell me what is and how I can fix it? Thanks a lot in advance

i can't play any of my games, i have directx 9 installed and still nothing, then i went to 'run' and typed in dxdiag to see if direct 3d acceleration was enabled but i can't enable it because it says it is 'not avaliable'. what can i do? it never did this before i got my computer reformated. help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a gigabyte GA-7VM400M motherboard. I am intending to buy a NVIDIA GeFORCE 6200 TC 256 MB PCI-E GPU. So i would like to know if my motherboard will support it. I am downloading some movies thru internet and i tried to burn them to the cds. But after burning and when i played those cds in the player the quality of the video has been reduced. I have download DVD rips and the video has very good quality while playing in my computer, whereas the same video in the cds got reduced quality! i am thinking that burning them with low speed (ex: 4X, 8X) may give the exact quality of video in cds. I previously burned the cds with 24x and 32x speed. Give some advices how to burn them without loosing the quality of video.

if my power supply before is 400w and i change it into 500w what would be the outcome and the problem??? cuz my Hard Drive has overheated fast maybe when i open my PC and after 1-2mins my Hard Drive Heat so fast is there a problem with my new Power Supply ??? what would i do to prevent overheating my Hard Drive??? or is there a Problem in my Hard Drive ??? thankz for helping me ^^
