I've seen external hard drives, but can you buy an internal hard drive and add it with a hard drive enclosure?

I wanted to do this beacuse on Newegg, I saw an 80GB ext. HDD for 64.99

But, I saw a 250GB int. HDD for 52.99

(They're both Western Digital. I love their stuff)

I was wondering if I could pair the internal HDD with an enclosure of the same size (maybe about $11), and get a HDD that's bigger and cheaper than the internal one.

I have a SD Card that has a hardware fault. Since I have pictures on it, I have been searching for ways to get to the data. The only thing that I have found are sites on the net that charge US$200+ for recovery. Is there an alternate way to do this at home for less?

I just purchased a new retail Seagate ata 100 internal drive and was wondering if I can install myself and was wondering how I can determine if this type of hard drive is compatible with my computer or not. Is there a way to detect? It would be helpful to know before I open the package...thanks!

Everything seems to be working great except I have these faint dotted horizontal lines in the background and I can't get rid of them. I've checked the connections, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, I don't know what else to do, any suggestions?

I just got a DVD camcorder with a 30MB hard drive. Only after I got home I realized that my burner is not DVD capable. All I need is something good enough to preserve my home videos of my children, without costing an exorbitant amout of money.

panic!: all of the work and other document files i have saved on my usb drive alone have become corrupted. the file names have changed to weird characters and i can no longer open them in Word. i have tried to research the problem but not come up with a solution. one basic suggestion i found was to run chkdsk but it did not run...and i read that this could be because the drive has to be locked but don't know how to do that. another suggestion is to run a mild format which does not delete the files but can restore them but i can't figure out how to do that either. i am very stressed...i cannot afford to love these files. does anyone know of a way to restore the files so they can be accessed normally again? damned cheap chinese rubbish! lol. hopefully this can be solved and i doubt if i will use usb drives again...just store everything on a portable hard drive (i've ordered one already!). thank you...
