My flash drive when plugged into the USB port has a message pop up that reads does not recognize the device or the device is corrupted. I need the data on it! Can I save the data or get the data off of the flash drive?

It is not locked, I tried another USB port, and then another computer, with no luck. But the end of it is loose!?!

first try it in another usb port.
that may not work, but then try it on another computer.
did you lock any part of it. they give add messages when you have partial lock and can't get at that part.

if all else fails, go to the geek squad or similar at best buy or at circuit city.
Or take it to Fry's and they'll give a good check, if the data is worth that much.

I would suggest to see if it works in another computer. If not--then most likely the drive got corrupted somehow. Try accessing it from the command prompt. Start - run - cmd - "enter"--cd n: ( if n is the flash drive), and try doing fix /mbr.
If it don't work--then use norton ghost to recover data from this.
Good Luck.

I am afraid this is not possible. It seems your flash drive has crashed down. If it is still under warranty period, then you get a replacement from your dealer.
