So...I plugged in my mic headset into my computer today, and...I called one of my friends on Skype, and they said they couldnt hear me. I turned up my mic, but that didnt work. Then I recorded myself on Audacity, and there was no playback....it was silent. MY MIC ISNT PICKING UP ANY SOUND!.....grrrr.

I was wondering if anyone knows what I can do to fix the problem...or if I should just go out and buy a new one (I would use the warranty I have on it, but I lost it...ugh!)

How do you reinstall drivers for a Nvidia Geforce go 7400 graphics card... I went onto their site but they only offer their new drivers, I'd just like to reinstall my old one, which I think corrupted just a few days ago.

Hi, i am getting a new computer in about a month, and i have an 80G external hard drive. I know how to put songs and files on it to transfer them to the new computer, but is there a way that I can get everything, like programs (such as games, microsoft word, etc)?

I was reading reviews about the core 2 duo e6400 2.13 Ghz processor and a guy was saying that he overclocked the processor from 2.13 to 3.46Ghz. Some other person said that he overclocked to 3.33GHz. How do you overclock this processor?And how do you know if you oc'ed to 3.33 or 3.46 or etc.?Is overclocking makes a big difference?Can a motherboard have an impact on overlocking?

I installed my sims cd game on my pc but when i tried to loead and play it said i needed a gravix card direcx. so i bought it and installed the card into my pc. Then reinstalled sims game into my pc. It still said it was looking for a gravix card. I dont understand i followed all the directions but it still didnt work. any suggestions??

Where is the rest of the 176.59 GB? What is going on? This PC is only a month old and i uninstalled the few programs i had installed hoping i would free some space. The pie chart shows only 10MB left? What the hell is this? The PC is a packard bell pentium D.

I connected an USB device.Then found new hardware wizard appeared.After disconnecting the device,the hardware wizard was still there.I cancelled the wizard. Then it found another hardware to install.But there was no uninstalled hardware connected to the system unit.I don't know what to do.But is there at least a way to disable 'found new hardware' wizard?

want to play games but have dell deminsion 4550 with agp 4x card slot supplies 250 watts. best graphic card? ati radeon 4550 seems to be the best i can find that will sork with my computer.

I recently bought 1 gb of RAM to add to my Dell Dimension 4700, it originally had 256. I added the 1gb in the open slot next to the 256, there are 4 slots total. My pc worked for a few days but then crashed, and I lost everything. I took out the 1 gb memory and I reinstalled windows and drivers, everything was ok again, but then I tried to add the memory again..and crash.

How do I add this RAM? I read that it has to be equal amounts of RAM in each slot, is that true? Can I just remove the 256 and put in the 1 gb? Well I already tried it, but it wouldn't reboot. I'm stuck, I want more memory but keep crashing everytime I try something, please help.

I bought the cheapest PC I saw on Dell.com (processor=2.53MHz Mem=256Mb).
Later, when my cash flow improved (paid off credit cards) I bought a 1GB chip from BestBuy and installed it (thank you Geeks who taught me how to install & make sure installed components are installed correctly).
I've noticed an increase in speed...but it's only barely appreciable (not quite as fast as the Internet Explorer where I work).

Am I better off buying another 1GB?

Will aother GB overwhelm my processor?

Do I have to buy a computer with a stronger processor if want to download a 2 min. video game trailer in less than 45 damn minutes?

If my hard drive is turned on my computer will not load onto windows. I have to switch the external hardrive off b4 i can get the computer to start. Is there anyway i can leave my hardrive on and still get my computer to start?????????

i have a nokia 6133. i bought a 1gb micro SD in hopes of putting music from my (compaq) laptop onto the card and then putting the card in my phone. i then had to buy a card reader (IOGEAR) for my laptop. i put the reader into my USB port, and then i tried to open the drive (:F), but i get this I/O device error message. Is there anything i can do? Thanks
