Hi, i am getting a new computer in about a month, and i have an 80G external hard drive. I know how to put songs and files on it to transfer them to the new computer, but is there a way that I can get everything, like programs (such as games, microsoft word, etc)?

You could ghost (like Norton Ghost) your old HD to your new HD. Your OS and everything will be the same as your old, use your new pc's driver cd to use to upgrade your drivers for that pc. if you are upgrading to a newer os, you can use your new os cd to upgrade, also.

WOW thats a hell of files. There's a cable to cable method but if you dont have a cable (usb - usb), I would suggest sharing files through router.

The only way i know how to do this is with AOL Instant Messenger, make sure you have a router (something that sends wireless connection with the internet). Make srue both computers have access and are connected to the router, and on AIM, click Send file to buddy (you have to make 2 screen names) to your second screen name. You should get a speed around 1-3 MB/s

Getting your data files to the new computer is easy. Getting your programs like installed games and MS word.... NOT SO EASY. You are better off re-installing the applications from their original installation disks.
