I am thinking of upgrading my computer's Ram memory, I currently have four slots two of which each have 512m installed. I have seen in the shop a 1gb stick which also appears to be DDR Sdram, my only concern is that if it is not the right memory for my computer can installing it damage my computer or will it just not recognise it?

I am wondering if I would see any significant improvement if I upgrade my CPU, from an AMD Athlon XP 2800 (2.0GHz) to a 3200 (2.2GHz).

I am running Windows XP Home SP2 on an Asus A7V8X-X motherboard, 512mb RAM, ATI Radeon 9600 Pro AGP video card (128mb) , but I am still having problems with games like The Sims 2, running very slow, even though the game itself requires only a 900MHz CPU. I am puzzled as to why the game takes almost 2 mins to start and to exit!

Will I see improvement in demanding games like the Sims 2? Or should I try adding more RAM or a better video card? Thanks for the help!

I have seen Firewire 400 and 800 pci cards, plus SATA and SATA-2 pci cards. However, I thought that PCI only transfer a maximum of 266/mb a sec, whereas these interfaces are much quicker. How does this work and is there a bottleneck/speed decrease when using such cards?

My computer sometimes crashes when i try to play world of warcraft......its probably because of the graphics card.I also downloaded and installed WOW off the website so instead of the graphics card being the problem could be because of an online installation bug type of thing?

When I place a CD or DVD in the computer and close the door, it causes the computer to restart. It does this every time. Someone said I might have a weak motherboard. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance! BB

I have an RCA 256 mb usb flash drive/mp3 player. Everytime i try to connect it to my computer and access files from it. I receive the error "please insert disk into drive e" (drive is is the letter of the flash drive) The drive will does not work as a music player either. I have tried reinstalling the drivers but that did nothing. What could be causeing this error? Could this be caused by removing the dirve without clicking on the safe to remove hardware? Can anyone direct me to a FREE utility that may be able to fix this error and recover my files. Is there any chance of my being able to recover my files. I would like to be able to fix this error without formating my drive if there is anyway possible. i have alot of important files on there that i do not want to lose. I am hoping that this is not a problem with the flash drive itself. I have only had it a few months

If I purchase a USB wireless network adaptor, for a desktop, that can get speeds up to 108Mbps and I place the desktop in the same room as the router, will the internet speed be the same as using a network cable? Will the USB Network Adaptor, with 108 Mbps, be fast enough to play games?
