If I purchase a USB wireless network adaptor, for a desktop, that can get speeds up to 108Mbps and I place the desktop in the same room as the router, will the internet speed be the same as using a network cable? Will the USB Network Adaptor, with 108 Mbps, be fast enough to play games?

It won't affect your Internet speed.

Playing games well won't depend as much on the adapter as it will on your Internet connection speed.

The adapter transmits data to the router very quickly, however, the router has to rely on the speed of your connection (NOT THE CARD) to send the data to the other player effectively.

Comprende ?

It will be the same. Even the slowest wireless adaptors are far faster than most home internet connections. The speed matters more for LAN/network use.

you'll want a on the spot router. As on your usb on the spot gadget, dont waste your funds. The usb adapters have some distance a lot less determination than a sturdy ole on the spot card with an antenna. Aint nuthin to setting up them both as long as you've an open pci slot.

The speed probably won't reach the speed it says it can, but you should be able to play online games just fine with it.
