i downloaded thie software and the webcam microphone is not working...

in whatever program you are using , you should have a choice of what voice system to use, just choose your webcam as such

seem for the webcam and microphone application and drivers on the fix/installation CD's you created for W7 and installation from the disc or pass to HP help and search for through type and serial quantity and installation the needed motive force for microphone and webcam.

have you enabled mike in its program
you sud find this in the sound program in properties
you pluged in to the wright socket at the back of your p c ?
if you are trying to use it on yahoo or msn . dont 4get to tune it in to there site / cam & sound / the prodram 4this is on there chat site

take it back to where you bought it from and ask them to check it out or change it, it does happen that a faulty one gets sold
