right well its has the pics of what it needs to be for slave or master but i have losted one of the jumpers that why im asking this and the computer is not picking it up in anyway so what should i do?

not always , it depends on the drive. one of my harddrives on one of my towers does and one of my laptops doesn't

Slave drives do usually require a jumper. There should be a diagram of jumper placements on the hard drive casing or the manual. You did not specify the brand and model, but you can usually find the specs at the manufacturer's website as well.

Hi im guessing you are using IDE, if the second hard drive is slave to a master it will need to be put as slave with the jumpers, it should say on the hard drive how to set them.

Not necessarily! Read what it says on your hard drive for the jumper settings. Some are a Master if they have no jumpers.

It depends on the drive. Usually you have to set it to CS (cable select). That way the drive at the end of the cable will be the master and the one in the middle will be the slave. Most PATA drives come from the factory set to CS these days.

yes it automatically becomes the slave as long as its in the middle,and the master is on the end.and it will automatically be assigned a drive letter. you should'nt need to use any jumpers.
