Just wondering if anyone is willing to jump on the windows vista ride? I ran the RC1 and 2 and found it a very slow, resource hog. My computer is a 4400+ dual core running at 2.6 G with 2 gigs of ram cas2 (2325), a wd raptor150 10000 rpm drive, and a radeon x1900XT 512mb. those who know about hardware no this isn't a slow computer. it also took up 2.7 gigs on my HD juist for the windows directory. talk bloatware anyone? So whos gonna take the plung, they say it's a little faster now?

I have a PC Chips M848A motherboard which can support up to 400 MHz FSB - so it will support up to the Athlon XP 3200.

I am currently running an Athlon XP 2400 (266 MHz FSB) with 1GB DDR 2100. Would I see any significant improvement by upgrading to an XP 3200 processor and/or upgrading my RAM?

On the other hand, would I be better off just waiting a while and going with one of the newer generation machines?

My motherboard specs say that it supports PC 2100, 2700 and 3200. I currently have a 1 gig stick of PC3200 in my PC. While looking for RAM for my friend I took the Crucial System Scanner. It said that I can support PC 4000 even though my motherboard only lists PC3200. Can it really do that or is Crucial simply telling me this, hoping that I buy it and my PC slows it down to the fastest speed it can handle?

I have a laptop computer and my cd/writer is not working. I cant afford to replace it, so I have been buying the USB flash drives to put my games, photos, music, etc.... on. So if the flash drives do not have very long life spans, does anybody have anything else that you can tell me to use that has a longer lifespan! If anybody has other suggestions, I would appreciate if you would let me know!

Thank You!
