If it is RAM you want to upgrade visit http://www.18004memory.com and run their applet to see if your system has room for more, or if a total replacement is needed. It will also tell you the maximum amount it can use. If the CPU needs to be replaced, you need to check the manufacturer's site to see if it will support a bigger faster chip. Remember too that every board has different sockets, so you have to get one for the socket your board has. My site below gives more information on this under Computer Talk. Hope this helps and Happy New Year

You are getting your terms Mixe dup, RAM is not measured in Ghz, its measured in MB's, CPU's are measured in Ghz.
Also, "Ghz" isn't a accurate measurement in CPU's, they used to make 3.6ghz, all new chips are 3.0ghz or less, there are single core 2.2ghz that can outperform a 3.6ghz.
Try posting in a forum about computers, my favorite being xtechforum.com, post in the hardware section, and they can first help you figure out WHAT is it that you want, and what your upgrade options are. Since not all computers can upgrade to anything, or you might need to upgrade one r two other components. at the same time to make it work.

If it is a new computer and still under warranty, I recommend you get a specialist to install it, otherwise, you should be able to install it yourself...it is really very easy. Find out what type of memory you are currently using and than find out what is compatible...I would recommend buying it on ebay and installing it if you are comfortable doing so. you can go to www.google.com and type in memory upgrade, this will give you lots of sites to find further information

First find out if your PC will run 1.8Gb of RAM. If so then consult with technical support at BestBuy, CompUSA or some other reputable computer store. Installing RAM is easy, but check your PC's documentation first before you do anything or buy anything.

1.8 GHz is the CPU speed, not the memory.
You'd need a new CPU chip, open your case, carefully remove the old one, carefully insert the new one, hope that your computer's motherboard will support it, cross your fingers, turn it on.
Try pricewatch.com for cheap CPU prices.
This is assuming you really want a faster CPU and not actually more memory.
