You have an on-board video card most likely, so basically that's not the case. Where it goes is more the case. You place it in the PCI slots inside your computer, you most likely have 3-4 of these. It can also be placed in an AGP? slot i believe it is, which is right next to the PCI slots (if you have AGP slot). Not all motherboards do. Install it with he floppy/CD it comes with. Don't forget to plug your monitor into this card not the onboard card. You're welcome!

First you need to determine what kind of port you have for a graphics card. Ideally, you would have a PCI-Express slot, but most likely you have an AGP or even PCI slot. Look for graphics cards that are the same format as your motherboard (PCI-E / AGP / PCI). When shopping for graphics cards, don't buy one simply because it has more video memory; Instead, look for a high model chip. (For example, a GeForce 7900GT with 256mb is much better than a GeForce 7300GT with 512mb). Once you buy it, it's just a matter of taking off one of the expansion slot covers, removing the side panel of the case, and sliding it in. Follow the directions that come with the card.

your slots are color coded. as pci is white and agp is brown. forgot what the PCI-e are. as I am jsut about to build my first computer with pciE. I can prob guess you dont have a pci-e slot. so I would go with agp as its better than regular pci. but if you have an on board video card. then its hard to disable the card. so I would find someone that knows hwo to do this stuff or take it to a computer shop. a 6800GT 256meg AGP should be more than enough card for what you need to game with. what I have in my computer and I play BF2 pretty good. if you dont do online first person shooter games no need to go with a 7900 card.

this is the card in my putter http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150157 I have no complaints with it.

just make sure you have a agp slot in your computer before buying anything. www.newegg.com has some of the best prices around.

also a 7950GT 512meg is better than a 7900GT 256 meg =-Þ
