my computer does'nt seem to have a cOM port, i wanted to know if i can connect a external COM port to my computer ??

I have an Attache flash drive that I used on my old Windows 98 computer. When I bought my new computer that has Windows XP, everytime I plug it in, it says no driver is installed and I get another error message that says the device has malfunctioned. I contacted the manufacturer of the flash drive and they said to contact DELL! I don't have time to go through 50 million people to answer this questions LOL. HELP?!!!!

I'm taking a computer Sciene for Arts studen, and a thing we learned was by by muliplying the resolution and then mulitiplying the pixels we can get the MB and then we can go from there my qestion is, how can you estimate/approximate how many pictures you can store in any hard-drive,USB or type of storage when you are given resolutin and the maximum amount the storage holds?

i have a prolink memory card reader P140CR. it has been serving me well for 2yrs plus. but somehow it just cant seem to read kingston memory cards. it happened with 2 different cards! but when i use other brands it works fine. kingston is a reputable brand but somehow im vary of it now..

I have a motorola e550 and i just bought a usb bluetooth dongle(made by nikkai). Now i can make my phone communicate with my pc but not visa-versa. Anybody got any ideas??

I'm trying to set up a wireless network for a desktop that only has USB 1.1 connections. I'm hoping to use a USB wireless network adapter but they are all USB 2.0 - I'd rather not add a PCI card if I can just plug in a USB adapter. Will the USB 2.0 wireless network adapter work with USB 1.1? I have had mixed success plugging in USB 2.0 devices into this USB 1.1 port (one usb stick will work, another won't be recognized). Do I need some updates?

I have an eMachine T5010,
512MEG Ram (256x2 with 2 more slots available, 4 total),
2.93 Pen4 proc,
200GIG HD.
Internet connection at nearly 6 mps.
When I burn a Nero 7 ultra DVD, my CPU's clip at 100%.
The burn comes out perfect.
The problem is I can NOT do anything else while Nero is burning (except watch a movie file.)
I am not new to 'puters...Just new to burning with Nero...I already did an "msconfig" and shutdown most of the background programs at start up. I Kept my McAfee security running.

Can I add two "1 GIG" memory cards to the two "empty" slots?
(also keeping my two existing 256meg cards)

Will that fix my CPU problem?

Hi, i have a Compaq Presario, around 2 - 3 years old. Its running Windows Xp. The other day i purchased a larger hard drive for it, it came with a 60 gig, i bought a new Maxtor 160 gig hard drive. I get everything installed and running then i noticed that the computer says the hard drive is only reading around 33 gigs. I have not downloaded or installed hardly anything on it yet, its brand new. What could be the problem? I have installed hard drives on other comptuers i have owned but never ran into this kind of problem.
