I built an external casing for the external hard drive and have it connected via usb 2.0. I have transferred some files already (mainly pics) but the program I have tranferred isn't responding. I'm wondering if there's a special way to transfer program files without having to find all of the installation disks.

Get Norton Ghost and use Norton Ghost 2003 to create a boot disk; use the boot disk to do a disk to disk CLONE from the small old disk to the new bigger disk. The new disk should be just like the old one applications and all.

If your hard disk is giving error messages it is cheaper to install a new hard disk drive and transfer all important data to the new hard drive. Depending on your technical skills, importance of the data, time and money available, there are various options available. , for more informations visit http://fixit.in/transferdata.html

If you don't have one already, you need an external case for your external HD. Then, plug the usb from the external case into the usb of your new puter. Lastly, if you understand puters, and you have the plug availability, you can set your external up as a secondary drive and plug the power and cable from inside your puter into the extra HD.
