I am trying to extend the life of my current computer do you think it is worth it or should I just buy a new one. I plan on doing some gaming and also some video editing. Today I purchased the following:

1. 320GB EIDE Western Digital Hard drive for $79, currently have the stock 160GB planning on reinstalling Windows XP on the new one and making the current stock 160GB my D drive.

2. Kingston 1GB DDR PC3200 RAM for $54, currently have 1.5GB, planning on replacing the 512MB with the 1GB stick to have a total of 2GB.

3. ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512MB AGP video card, got it on sale at Best Buy for $99. Is this a good card ???

4. CompUsa 500 watt PSU for $59, are CompUsa PSU's any good ???


So for about $300 do you think it will be worth it and do you think the combination will work OK ?? Or should I just save a few more months and purchase a new computer with a Quad Core, etc. ??? Please let me know what you all think. Thanks for any info. God Bless !

My HP computer has an S Video IN and RCA connections for audio. I presume I should then be able to get some kind of software to access these inputs. I want to connect a vcr using the S Video IN and these RCA jacks.

What software do I need to use that will recognize the video/audio from these connections?

I know that the MacBook costs more than most of the Notebooks, but which one is better in terms of duribility? Personally, I like Apple better than PC, but my dad is convinced that no good can come from Apple. I want the MacBook, but my dad warns against them. I think he might be biased toward PCs though. For christmas I am getting an HP Pavillion and I am wondering how to get all of my music, media, documents, everything off of my family Desktop and onto the laptop. I use itunes to store my library, but 95% of the media is from C.D.s. I don't have an iPod or any other large portable hard drive that I could copy all my failes to and download onto the laptop. Does any one know an easy way to move about 8-10 GB from my Desktop to my Laptop? Thanks!

my computer monitor has rotated 90 degrees and i have to turn my head sidways to read it. even my mouse works with the screen moving it to the left it goes down, to the right goes up, down it goes to the right, up goes to the left, i need help on how to fix this to get it back to normal. for some reason my little brother was leaning against the key board and this is how it happened.

I was wondering which would be better for writing and editing drafts, a Mac or Windows. A friend of mine suggested that I look into a Mac Book or a Mac book Pro. Rather than going with a Mac. Windows machines are good for desktops, other than you can store a lot. I noted that windows can slow down, while three applications are running at the same time. A laptop is not a good idea, harder to upgrade. Vista laptops can be annoying; in what I call the five second delay. When it comes to writing or opening an application.
A desktop can annoy the hell out of you. After a friend confirmed that his windows desktop slowed down, even though it’s already juiced up.
I’m looking for a portal machine to do writing and editing. And listening to some tunes while striking the keyboards. Something that won’t go into the five second delay mode.
What are your thoughts?

I have two hard drives. Both with data on them. The first hard drive is the main one in which vista is getting installed. I am disconnecting the second one during the vista installation just incase any problems occur. When I install the second drive again on vista, I will not have to format it again will I?
