does anyone know of a wireless device I can use to attach to my TV so i can watch the channels on my laptop over my home wireless network?

no. i am looking for somthing just to work (wireless) over my home network, not over the internet -slingbox, or with a wire - usb

No, you have to have a tuner that will make the network connection and nothing in your TV will do that for you. There are devices that will be tuners on computers, I have one in front of me feeding computer via USB and a friend has a device that will put audio out wirelessly to feed his stereo system from his media machine. Radio Shack is selling an HD tuner on sale that feeds via USB to the screen.

I have a Dell Inspiron|1501. I think a USB cord might do it..
