My HP computer has an S Video IN and RCA connections for audio. I presume I should then be able to get some kind of software to access these inputs. I want to connect a vcr using the S Video IN and these RCA jacks.

What software do I need to use that will recognize the video/audio from these connections?

Thanks!

You need either a RCA jack video & audio, or Coaxial Cable connected to a TV tuner card (if you have one). The software that comes with your TV tuner should have the option to record. Just like you regular TV, change the station to channel 3 and press play on your VCR and press record on your TV turner software (that should have come with your card. This will record your tape videos onto your computer. Be sure to check your software option to where you want the video to be save to and what format. I dougth that your VCR has a S video output.

If you have Vista Home Premium or Ultimate you can do it right thru the Vista Media Center. If you have Home Basic you will have to buy whatever type of "video suite" software that suits your needs like Pinnacle Studio 11. Just make sure whatever software you buy is compatible with your version of Vista as not all are.

Hi. You may be better off using the F-connector (cable type) because the audio and video will be combined. It depends on your GPU card.
