I have a laptop and was using it it was kinda old and had windows xp on it so i thought i would just downgrade it to 95 to make it go faster when i did that i realized 95 doesnt support usb disabling me from using my ipod, psp, and internet. i thought i could just upgrade it back to xp when i had inserted the cd it worked untill the hard drive was formated and now i do not have any operating system on the lap top when ever i insert a boot xp installer cd it just idnores it and takes me back to the no operating system screen. the same goes for my windows 95 cd. what did i do wrong what do i do to fix it?

i Built a computer all the right ways.... connected all the wires to the wright place and when building i even used a anti-static armband .

Finnaly i finished....i pluged it in and pushed the power button.......nothing.... i tried to reset all the parts...re connect all the wires..but still nothing...this computer cost a lot and i dont want to put it to waste..

i cant turn off my computer from windows. i have to do it manually by pressing the on/off button on my compute case. there is no shut down computer option on my task bar and there is no option is task manager also.do you know what the problem could be?

I've currently got broadband with BT, and my other 2 children can connect wireless via there laptops, but as for the 2 desktops, I can't connect unless I use the ether cable.
Am I doing something wrong, or do I have to buy any additional wireless keys? as I have for the laptops.

My brain is in a pickle, any help will be gratefully appreciated, plus it will keep the kids quiet abit longer til problem is resolved.......lol

I have many pages of WORD docs. I would like to have each page be a slide. Is that possible? I would also like to be able to import or convert the WORD doc into a PPT format - the only way I have figured it out is to print the WORD as a PDF and then save the PDF as a JPG. Then bring in each one individually. There has to be a better way.

ok i had to reset my computer to factory settings so i lost all security stuff etc tht i had set up, i cant remeber what all i had etc. so i need to know a few things
1- what security package should i put on to take care of everything
2-do i have to go thru the whole reinstallin of aol to get it back on, as im using interent explorer riht now and its really slow and pop ups coming up all the time, why is all this?
3- computer seems to be running slow, even though theres hardly anthing taking up the memory

i recently bought an acer desktop and it came with vista. i had always used xp and vista was new to me. i also heard people were downgrading to xp and it took up like 3/4 of the space on the comp. so i downloaded Team Fortress 2 on it and i started to play it it was laggy as anything! i knew it wasn't the graphics card because i had used the same one in an xp comp and it worked fine. my brother said it was just because vista was terrible and it took up all the ram space. so what i'm asking is should i downgrade to xp or buy another stick of ram to play those tf2,cod4, etc. type of games?

Ok so i've been trying to work this out over the last few days, I have a Homehub from BT and it has the Hub Phone which is basically VOIP, now it has a normal phone connector on the back so what would stop me connecting to another ADSL service through this "line". Now i know there are differences between VOIP and broadband, but Dialup and Adsl both use "noise" to send information, surely u could send this straight down a VOIP "line" and theoretically if you could do this u could do it again with anohter VOIP service within the First?

I know you cant do it at the moment but i'd really like to know why as i cant stop wondering. Thanks to anyone that can make sense of my question lol
