1gb is the minimum requirement. so it will work but it would work better if you had more

Yes, but that is a low-end configuration for Vista.

Two GB or Four GB would be better.

Be absolutely sure you allow your system to have enough swap space. To do that, go to

Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> System

On that dialog box, click the tab for Advanced.

For Performance, click Settings.

On the next dialog box, click the Advanced tab. Near the bottom you might see something about the paging file. You should have no less paging file size than the size of your physical memory. If you defrag your hard drive before you try to change the settings, you have the best chance of it working.

NO minimum requirement for Vista as nicely as homestead windows 7 is two GB RAM and a minimum of CoreDuo processor or larger. purely netbooks which use homestead windows 7 Starter version and you may't purchase it retail through fact Microsoft ships it purely to netbook OEM manufacturers can run on a million GB RAM and Intel Atom processor. All different homestead windows 7 variations choose a minimum of two GB RAM and CoreDuo processor or larger. in case you run it with that little RAM it extremely is going to freeze too many times - reminiscence is inadequate to shield the burden.

I'd go with 2 gbs of ram. And to that guy that said there's no advantage, you need Vista to enable direct x 10 graphics. XP won't let you do that

Two gigs is a minimum for this memory-hogging os. Use XP if possible on your pc, there is no advantage to vista anyway. Better yet save longer for your next computer and buy a mac, and be done with the whole spyware / virus / security nightmare.

It should be with any normal OS, but Vista really takes a lot more than that to run smooth. I'd get 4gb to be happy.

should be unless you use a lot of graphics programs, or have the top of the line vista. besides most pc you can always add more.

4GBs are supposed to be comfortable for Vista. Less than that and Vista's heart won't be really into it, but it WILL work with less.
