when idle my computer use to stay on now it fades out when idle

I've tried tabbed browsing but I really disliked it. I usually have like 10 windows open at once, and I find it easy to switch between them using alt-tab. When I tried tabs, I found I still ended up with multiple windows, but also ended up with multiple tabs in different windows. Very confusing. What's so great about tabbed browsing anyway? Can somoene explain? Are there any advantages that I'm missing?

I lost the installation cd for the router and forgot the password. Is there any way to reset the router so I can make a new password? I'm really lost in this whole way of securing a network. Would it be easier to just buy a new router? But would I still have to uninstall the old router software? HELP!!!

I have dell latitude d400 as well, which picks the wireless network (that has old windows / microsoft office). This new acer laptop has windows vista, I dont know how to sort out in vista. Actually acer was set up for a lan (wired connection) at clients office. I dont know how I should to change it suitable for wireless internet. Please explain step by step how to check. Iam getting annoying ad pop ups all the time,since starting to do shopping from internet. I have a pop up blocker within my system (windows xp) but does not stop these trashy pop ups. Is there anywhere I can download a free pop up blocker.

I have had it check by an engineer and he says its OK

ever since we had the phone line put in the house (june this yr) we have had problems with the line, an engineer came out and said i had pluged things in wrong,he put them in the right place it worked for a few days then the problem started again, we still cant use the phone and the broadband at the same time, can you help????????????

My virus and anti-spywear program had gotten out of date. (I know this is my fault) but by the time I noticed it, it was to late. Now the web page Security Center over-rides my home page and no matter what I do this page pops up. I new Icon showed up in my tool bar at the same time with a real annoying bubble that says I am at risk. I have tried disabling this icon but just keeps coming back everytime I start my machine. PLEASE HELP

Hi. We have a small computer network in our office of 4 pc's and a dedicated server. We had a problem yesterday and rebooted the server, which now refuses to turn back on! I tried everything...unplugging,replugging, holding down buttons. There are only 2 power switches on this damn thing, and all i get is a weird high pitched noise but no activity. I went to check my mail and I had a person who wanted to be on my page. I clicked on her picture to see her profile because all I usually get is things from people with adult sites on thier page. Anyway when I click on her pic a Micosoftware update thing popped up. It did do anything that I see. has anyone ever had one like this?

I am working with another software vendors sample .java files (a couple hundred) and occasionally need to find one that demonstrates how to use their API. Their API set has over 10,000 objects and the documentation unfortunately is, more often than not, lacking details (i.e. a method takes "int arg1, int arg2" but really they are wanting some sort of enumerated object).

I have done both explicit searches (*.java) and open searches (*.*) to find files containing keywords but the Microsoft search does not find files that contain the words. If I manually search the files, I can see plenty of them that contain the words, but I don't really want to rely on a manual search when the OS has a search capability (just not working as expected).

Any thoughts on a default configuration that needs to happen? Does another option exist? I'm using Eclipse as my IDE and can search my project directory but these are sample files and I don't want to pull them all into my project just to do a search.

I am trying to install Publisher 07 on a Win XP Professional pc and setup
keeps popping up with a error message that states "setup cannot find
OfficeLR.ww\OfficeLRWW.cab. browse to a valid installation source and then
click OK" when I browse to the location it gives me an "Invalid directory"

I am looking for a web browser that will increase my browsing productivity. Any browsers that can load pages faster?
Another feature I think would be nice... hitting back usually causes the page to reload and takes a long time. Any browser that can disable reloading pages to speed up browsing?

My monitor broke
When I start my computer, it starts the proccesor, but not the monitor, it just stay's black, the proccesor is okay, It's the monitor that bugs me. How do I fix it, or what do I do so it will work, the monitor, because it's black. How do I fix it without making adjusments in the windows panel or something, when you press f4 or something. What do I do so the monitor screen works?

Or is it the proccesor problem?
