Disable the screensaver and/or power management in the Display Properties.

But why would you want to? A monitor should only take a couple of seconds to come out of power management, and leaving it on is burning up the life of the monitor and pumping heat into your house.

You can change this in the "power management" control panel. But, its meant to help save power, monitors waste a lot of electricity when they are on. Plus, all you have to do is move your mouse and it comes back on, are you really that inconvenienced?

Go to Start, control panel and power options, under Power scheme, for Turn monitor off, select Never.
