Windows Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Opera has built-in pop up blockers. But you can also try Panicware Pop-up Stopper and Yahoo! Toolbar also has a pop up blocker.

If you download the Yahoo tool bar that includes a popup blocker, also a spyware blocker, but you may need an ad blocker as well, I have one with my security, but I am not in a position to recommend a free one, as some will put malware onto your computer, so be careful.
You may have had something downloaded onto your computer if you did your shopping on an unsafe site, which attacts adverts,

Most modern browsers come with pop-up blockers built in. Firefox, IE7 and Opera all have them. I suggest you download a updated version of your browser of choice. If that doesn't stop it, you may have a virus that is opening browser windows. I suggest you do a full system scan with a reputable virus/spyware scanner as well.

If you do not wish to change your browser to Firefox then you can use Google toolbar to block your pop ups, its free and who doesnt use google these days!?
Please note that these will only stop pop ups that are coming from websites you are surfing. If you still get pop ups with google toolbar then it is likely that you have spyware on your computer... In that case you would use the Spybot: Search and Destroy programs to remove these!
