hi all,
when im on my laptop and i close the lid, it automatically goes into stand by mode within a few seconds and i was wondering if anyone knows how i can stop it from going into stand by and let it run normally even when the lid is closed.

ok when ever i insert a floppy drive and try to acces it it freezes up for a little bit and then tellse me access denied please seak acceess from and adminisrator. and tehn gives a file path that i recognise to be my temp file in my local settings folder? please help i need to get my resume printed off!!!!!

Hello
I have a nVIDIA fx 5200 graphics card.
but my videos don seem to work..i mean they are dispalyed as though my system were in safe mode....yeah those poor colors.

I am interested in becoming a web designer. I dont have the money for school right now, so I want to teach myself as much as i possibly can untill i can get to school.

My questions to you.

1. If you are a web designer, what school did u go to, or how did you learn what you know.
2. what books/programs/languages would you recomend learning.

Im already pretty good with photoshop and dreamweaver. I want to learn flash but it seems so difficult to self teach. any good books or tutorials out there?

Im really just looking for some good advice and some help in where i should get started. what are some things i can do now, untill i get to school so i can be as prepared as possible.

I have a laptop and the cd/dvd drive has stopped working. I thought it was broken and bought an external usb cd/dvd drive. That one does'nt work either and now realise that it is not the internal one that is broken it does not work with external one either. What could be the problem? I have tried cleaning the heads which has not helped either. Have I done something wrong when trying to play a cd, is there something internal that needs to be changed, have I changed a setting without realising so? Any help would be appreciated. Any other usb devices work, so I know its not that connection that is broken either. Thanks. Kathleen

help i have a compaq computer, my software is windows xp. ok my friend came to my house and i caught her looking at cartoon porn now i am not shure if i got a virus or what but the sound on my computer stoped completly and somhow this program called contra virus 2.0 downloaed itself on my computer and it is supossed to kill a virus but i don't think it helps beacuse when i tried to delete the progam it says i have a sighned contract but i did not sighn any thing what do i do? and no matter what i do i can't har any thing on my computer!
