Hi everybody

My question is I have a Sony laptop which run's Windows XP Home Edition and I want to run Windows XP Professional X64. I'm not sure if my laptop is going to run this, and also I don't want to go through all these process and in the end I end up with no operating system. My Sony laptop come with preinstalled software including all the applications and operating system, but I want to format my computer (delete all the software) to build my own application. To many software I have now is out of date or I don't need them but becasue in most of Sony laptop you won't be able to configure the hidden portions of your factory installed application.

Here are my system information:

Model: PCG-K315S
CPU: Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor 532, 3.06 GHz
HDD: 40 GB
RAM: 512 MB
O/S: Windows XP Home Edition

My main question would be, is it possible to run the "X64" version of Windows XP Pro in this laptop?

I am about to buy a new antivirus and I am wanting to know your guys reviews over the following 3 that I am thinking about buying.

Bit defender V10 antivirus

Norton 2007 antivirus

Trend micro 2007 antivirus

Keep in mind this is for vista home premium.

Ive heard that bit defender bogs down your computer pretty bad.. what do you think..

why do low end computers with windows vista come with only 512 MB of ram when it needs at least 1 gig to run smoothly.

Here's my proposed setup:

The cable will go from the wall to 2-way splitter A.
From that 2-way splitter A, one output will go to the TV for my cable TV.

The other output from 2-way splitter A, will go to 2-way splitter B. 2-way splitter B will have an out put going to my Cable modem and a second output running to my PC TV Tuner Coax imput.

Will this setup work and will I lose any bandwidth?

I want to do this because I don't have enough cable to run a 4-way splitter in place of splitter A

I have a desktop connected to a cable modem, and I use a router to connect it to my laptop. However, since last night, the internet connection on my laptop has been lost. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the modem and the router, and restarting the laptop, but nothing has worked so far. If I go into "Network Connections" and try to "Repair" the connection, it comes up with an error saying that it can't connect.

So ppl (using pc's) will send me excel files using just plain ole Arial 12 pt. Yet when I open it up on my mac, the words will still be readable but the spacing is all messed up. Between certain letters in a word, it will have too much space or be too crunched up! This is driving me crazy and everyone just blames the macintosh! LOL I'm ready to resolve this issue once and for all!!! Please help! =)

If I'm hard-wire connected to a cable modem, and I am wirelessly connected to another cable modem.

I found a pretty good deal on an Apple iBook G3....

*500MHz
* 20 GB ATA hard drive
* Mac OS X

All of this for only $289.99.

The problem is that I reallly don't know much about Macs.

We have two Tables Users, UserMatches

Users (UserID, param1, param2....)
We store profile of users in Users table

UserMatches(UserId, matchedUserID)
For every users there could be 0..N matching users

If there are 100 matches for UserID there is repetition of

UserId, UserId1
UserId, UserId2
.....
UserId, UserId100

As you can see the UserMatches table grows NxM. Is there an efficient way we can store this information.

Please note that we cannot store all the matched users in comma separated text. We need a better structure so that we can easily update the table.

There seems to be something wrong with my monitor screen. Its hard to explain but it is easy enough to read the writing but if there is a block of colour it seems to be wriggling and moving. (like when someone wears something with a dogtooth check design on telly!)

Can anybody tell me what the problem is and how to fix it.
