Please help me if you can, I am new to this and by looking at some questions I too would like to know if there is ANY type of FREE anti-virus and spy-ware programs that are FREE and if so have you or any of friends tried them with no problems as I have tried avg & avast and these FROZE my computer up .

I recently upgraded my laptop to XP Pro but now when I try to get on the internet it says 'cannot find server' or 'unable to connect to the server'. Have done all the usual stuff, tools, internet options, connections etc. still nothing

When I leave my laptop open, and do not use it for awhile, the screen goes black. How can I stop it from doing this? I have it set so there is no screen saver. Would it still do this even with a screen saver?

I'm on about internet explorer 7. Every thing looks and works well but why all the security if we don't know about security by now we should not be on the web let alone have a pc.also who ever said go to tool bar then click this and that should try it first cheers.

After the first AVG anti virus run, it said it was buried deep and could not be healed. Then I ran SpyNoMore, and then AVG again. Both times, the result was "No VirusFound". So, was it removed or is it still in there ?

So just a little while ago I decided htat i was going to restart my computer. It came normally, then something comes up saying something about C: drive or something. It says It is recomended that I do it. This is before I log on or anything. It right after its done loading. I clicked cancel because I wasn't sure what it was doing. So then I got out of it. I ran adaware and for rid of everything and ran Norton andspysweeper. It found nothing. Do you think it is just something that has to be done or do you still think its a virus? I am usually very good with computers but i am not sure what this is. Should i let this run and then see what happens?

Hello,

I am wondering where I can get some software that can graph 2-D functions, (ideally 3-D functions), with sliders where I can vary the values for the functions. I would also like to be able to display this data in a webpage... Will GNU plot do this? I have been looking around and can not find if it will do both of these things. Any recommendations on software that would that is free/low cost?

I recently changed my internet security to Panda Platinum 2007 but find that I cannot connect to the internet until I disable Panda. Something seems to be blocking the internet but I don't know how to rectify this. Can anyone held please. Not very computer literate so layman's language would be most appreciated! Thanks.
