Umm... Okay... here try this... click on Start and click on "Run".
This will open up a little box in the lower left hand corner of your screen... now type in the following:
chkdsk /f
You will get a popup saying that you'll need to restart your computer and if you want the check disk feature to start on your next restart.
Press the "Y" button for yes.
Then restart your computer. Let your computer restart and there will be a popup that says:
"To cancel chkdsk press any button" or "Check Disk will run in (there will be a count down)"
DON'T press anything and let the scan run. This scan will look for lost, orphen, misplaced, corrupt, etc files on your computer and it'll try to restore it.
After the scan is run, it'll give you a quick run down of how much room you have on your machine and how much is taken up. Dont' worry about this and let it restart.
Once your computer has restarted back to the Welcome Screen, sign in and see if you still get that error message.
Hope this helps.

Your question is too vague to give an accurate answer, but I suspect that your system want to run a disk scan on your hard drive, possibly because you did not shut it down properly, or because some corrupt data was found. You should probably do a Scandisk to make sure everything is OK.

By your discription it sound like you Hard Drive (C:) is having a issue. You need to run Scandisk(chkdks) with both boxes checked or Extended test if windows (98 or ME).
Then after that finishes you need to run Disk defragmenter
Before doing this you need to back up you data just incase you HDD(C:) fails during the tests.

If your computer hangs or reboots while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yk5zpr

Its basically traces from a legit program that you removed. clean your start up folder to get rid of it. There are also programs out there that help you clean this kind of stuff but I can't recall a name right now.
