I had read that you can plug one or two jump drives in and dedicate a portion of the space available as RAM in Windows Vista. I was just looking around today and was not able to find this anymore? This was a few months ago and it may be something that was cut out or was just a myth. Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this. Thanks.

I have tried to do this already but no luck ! It keeps coming back as filed but cannot open them because it says improper filing codes DAT file. I'm kinda new to computers so I'd appreciate help on this. I just want to permanently put the archived conversations in a private and personal file form that can be opened and contents are accessable. Is there any way to do this? Please HELP!!!! My Cd-r drive has stopped fuctioning properly all of a sudden! When I insert a CD into my drive to download a program it does not start automatically. And when i go to the control panel the program i want to install appears in the drive , but when i click to start it ir will not start. This is not just one program but many. It does read CR-ROM , HOWEVER. Just 30 minutes ago it wasfuntioning fine. The error message sys i need to Install WINDOWS INSTALLER. Butt when i go to microsoft site to download it i get a meesage saying: this program alreadt exist. What coul be the problem? pls help!

I already have a domain and hosting, but I'd like to find a service that will register another domain name for a one time fee, not yearly or any of that stuff. This is just for a project, I'd like to try and point the domain at a free hosting website's (already have one) servers.

My Inspiron (SP?) will not turn on or if t does it freezes within a minute. I called Dell they said I need a new memory chip. Does this make sense? I already ordered the chip and am hoping that fixes it. When I try to power up the PC the lights do come on but only for a second, unless I am lucky enough for it to power up completley. I have read where it could be the motherboard. What could be the problem? Thanks

I'm trying to download LimeWire, but my computer keeps coming up with the error "Security Warning, Publisher: Unknown Publisher, The file download has been blocked because it does not have a valid digital signature." It only gives me the option "Ok". I have tried lowering my security settings, but that hasn't worked. Is there another way around this problem?

I get the following messages when I try:

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel."

"Last error: 1155"

"Unable to launch AOM File.
CreateProcess return code: 10806852"

What do these mean and what can I do? I'm running on XP.

I will try to explain this the best I can please bear with me. SOMETIMES when I type (in an Email Letter) for instance, if I make a mistake and catch it before I finish the email, (and I go back into the paragraph) and backspace to correct the miss-spelling, I have to rewrite the whole thing from the beginning of the word forward untill I get to where I can continue with the email. This also happens in Word Pad too. This only happens sometimes, and it is a hassle to have to rewrite the whole thing over. Say I have a Sentance in the first part of the Paragraph, and I go back to that Sentance to correct a misspelling, and if the Paragraph is, lets say, ten (10) Sentances long, I have to retype the whole ten (10) Sentances. I hope I am making sense. Thanks for any help.

Its about Kaspersky antivirus.In order to uninstall i need to close the program, but when I attempt to close it asks me for a password i don`t know, and when i attempt to close it from the Windows task manager it says it cant close it because it is locked by the system.Pls help!!

Ok I need to know whether or not the system restore works by it self, like saves a restore point. And if so can you tell me how i would be able to acess it, like move it. And how long can system restore point stay if you put them in manually. Is it possible that i can save my files to a external hard drive then restore and then put the files from the external hard drive in to the computer.

My computer has been bombarded with adware and spyware. I have AVG (the free version) which detects 3-5 Trojan viruses of the same names, in different locations every time I run a scan (daily!). It says it fixes them, but I'll run a scan right away and there they are again! I got Spyware Doctor, which found 1215 bits of adware/spyware on the first run, then 289, then 18, and most recently 5. The problem is, every time I run a scan on either program, these things are "deleted," "resolved," or "healed." So why do the same viruses with the same names keep showing up on EVERY scan??? Is there something on my computer that re-installs them? I am getting tired of the constant pop-ups! Can anyone suggest something that will take all of these things off my computer?

Someone must've reported that my system was an open relay. I looked into it and fixed the issue. Now I can't get yahoo to remove the filter. All my mail either goes into the bulk mail section of my reciepent's yahoo account or just disappears. How can I get them to check into this?

Over the last year performance has dropped badly.virus searches and spyware searches all come up with nothing.My hard drive is 90% Empty so thats not the problem and ive got memory coming out of my ears.Any ideas????
