I'm trying to download LimeWire, but my computer keeps coming up with the error "Security Warning, Publisher: Unknown Publisher, The file download has been blocked because it does not have a valid digital signature." It only gives me the option "Ok". I have tried lowering my security settings, but that hasn't worked. Is there another way around this problem?

You're messing with the wrong security settings. Windows may see LimeWire as a driver (which it sort-of is). Go to control panel, then system. On the hardware tab, click "driver signing". Under "file signature verification", look to see if it's set to "block". If so, this is your problem. Change the setting to "warn". You'll then be able to download. If this option is grayed-out, the administrator has locked down this policy by default.

If this is a computer at the place you work, the system administrator probably has you blocked. Unless you can convince him or her to unblock you, you're out of luck.

By the way, installing something like Limewire on a computer owned by your employer is usually grounds for termination.

Are you sure you want to download it if there is a "Security Warning"?
