Panda is garbage in my opinion. Rated almost at the bottom by experts in the field of antivirus.
If Panda Platinum 2007, comes with it's own firewall and you are running Windows XP Prof., then there will be a conflict with two firewall.
Go to =start=settings=control panel. Look for the XP Firewall an open and turn off the Windows XP firewall if this is the platform that you are using.
If you only have the Panda firewall, then you should get a pop-up from their firewall asking you for permission to access the internet. If you don't get the firewall pop-up get rid of this junk and download an excellent state of the art free version. (I use this myself in one pc).
http://www.avast.com This is an excellent state of the art free antivirus sytem that updates daily, sometimes twice per day an is free for home use. Their corporate is the same software, they just charge corporate. You will have to fill out a short form and give them your email so they can send you a registration key for the free home version that is good for one year. After the one year is up, all you do is renew the free key. Scans all 175,000 object in my system and will also scan hidden files, compressed files.
For a one time fee in one of my other pc I use what the Government of China uses. http://www.filseclab.com (I have not had one virus with either program in over nine years).
The one that is used by the Government of China cost a one time fee of $29.99 for life. You get frequent updates, all new versions an excellent support for the one time fee for life.
Here are the details below:
Being a clinical psychiatrist I have a moral and legal obligation to keep my pc 100% clean from all virus/spyware/malware.
I tested every free and purchase antivirus system known. An I found only one that actually works 100%. Never had a virus or spyware in my system in nine years.
Go to, www.filseclab.com and download thier Twister AntiTrojan Virus program. (You will have to pay a small one time fee). You will never have to pay an annual fee for updates, support or new versions. The one time fee is for life. ($29.99)
The software company is located in Beijing, China. They have excellent support, frequent large signature updates an as always all new versions are free. No annual fee for anything.
Comes with a real time scanner that really works. Actually I am quite amazed over the nine years how well it works.
Scans memory on startup.
Real time scanning in the background.
Open any webpage with an embedded trojan/spyware or malware and scanner will clean on the spot. An It is really removed from your system.
Download any kind of program from zips, all compressed files, software files, music, etc, etc, an if there is a hidden embedded trojan, spyware, malware, this program will stop the download and clean. An will advise you to end the download.
Will even find a virus in the installer wizard, like "Wise Installer". And will stop the installation while it is being installed and clean. Plus this program always will trace back who installed the trojan.
I had a trojan in and wizard installer. Twister caught the trojan and stopped the installation. I wrote the origianl company and told them the wizard installer had an embedded trojan to steal your data. The company now uses thier own installer.
You can't beat this software for a one time purchase fee only. Actually I don't know of any antivirus progam that even comes close to this state of the art technology.
All I can say it is worth the one time fee. Your pc cost alot of money and you don't want it destroyed. Plus your privacy is protected at all times.
There is nothing in it for me to praise this program. I tell it like it is. If it is garbage then I will say so.
You don't say what Microsoft Windows Platform that you use. Anyway I think I have given you enough information to help you.

An internet connection can become slow or stop working due to a number of reasons depending on the type of the connection. Many of the problems can be solved by making software changes or small hardware corrections. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yl62gz

Hi Mamie
Your firewalls have collided the one on you PC and the other on the Panda software. Disable one of them and the other will block virus problems.
Glad to help you.

Please don't go on the internet without your firewall active, you are asking for trouble. You just need to learn how to use it.
Each program has a Help section, please read that carefully, take your time; and if you're still stuck there are people you can hire to come round your house for an hour or two to show you how to use your pc.
And I agree, Panda is the pits. Try Zone Alarm for your firewall, AVG for your anti virus and anti spyware programs, and Ad-Aware SE Personal and Spybot Search and Destroy.
The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out. Zone Alarm firewall is free for personal use and stops unwanted incoming and outgoing traffic. You choose which programs are allowed to access the internet. It's fairly easy to use and updated regularly.

Instal both these web browsers, turn off javascript on one and use that browser for vising unknown websites. They don't support Active X so thats one less way for problems to get on your pc.
Winpatrol is a handy utility that tracks cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

It might be the firewall, or maybe the firewall that comes with Panda conflicting with the microsoft xp firewall. (the firewall is the programme that stops your pc being hacked into, xp comes with this programme automatically loaded on your pc, and most virus checkers come with as part of it.

you can try a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus..
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.
