I'd like the computer to stay on. The display can turn off, but I'd like the computer to stay awake. I looked in the Energy Savery control panel but couldn't find it.

why would you want to? everything is saved when you open it but mainly you conserve close to 90% of the battery power

Go into your Power Options in Control Panel, then the Advanced tab... it says something about what to do when you close your lid, choose "Do nothing" and it will keep running like normal (but will still turn off the screen.)

LOL, sorry... I should have read the question, I didn't see it was a MAC.

click on the apple logo in the top right hand corner, and then go to "sleep". then just close it.
