I just installed I.E. 7 also.
The favorites is mow a gold star next to the tabs. The gold star with the green + adds to favorites.

once this is downloaded locate the file. Run the program. When the install is finished go to start then control panel then add remove programs and uninstall IE 7.0. Trust me you will be happy with this

That's the menu bar, and it's gone on IE7. However, just press the Alt key and it should be back (momentarily).
