I recently upgraded my laptop to XP Pro but now when I try to get on the internet it says 'cannot find server' or 'unable to connect to the server'. Have done all the usual stuff, tools, internet options, connections etc. still nothing

I don't want to call provider as it takes about half an hour to get through all trhe automated bs and then I get to talk to someone from another country whom I cannot understand and usually has difficulty understanding me

Have found that Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter (10/100) has no drivers installed??

Go to Internet Explorer
Tools
Options
Connections

Reset or let IE configure itself
Check XP Pro FireWall Settings or better yet turn it off
Download another browser like FireFox, as it sets up it will configure and work, guarantee it!!

I need further Information first, but will venture a guess. From what you said, it cannot locate a Domain Name Server, or it is setup improperly.

you need to add details! are u wireless? what laptop? operating system upgrade, in existing laptop? so many variables, how do you connect, which isp?
