i want to know how i can speed up my pc.its windows n its slow as heck when im opening up applications such as itunes, wordperfect, and limewire among others.taking at least a good 2-3 min to get settled and actually workin smooth up until i open another application thn it goes twice as slow.i tried pressin ctrl+alt+del n stopping some of the background programs but its still slow.i have a 256 mb worth of RAM n computers at my school hav 128mb of RAM n they would blow my computer away.is there a way to speed my computer up?by the way my computer is clean i defrag and use disk cleanup everyday.n it still acts this way.is there a setting on my computer somewhere tht could help increase RAM or virtual memory?so tht my computer is fast

I use Outlook Express for my e-mail. I have individual e-mails filed in about 15 folders ranging in size from 5 e-mails to 500 e-mails per folder. What I want to do is to copy the folders onto a CD (or several CDs).

I have a computer that run win 95 before. Somehow, it got 'wiped' off and now i am having trouble loading win 95 floppy onto the thing. Do i have to reload ;dos; onto the system or is it still there somewhere? I thought that when i put the floppy disc in, it automatically starts loading. is this true? if not, what do i do please? all answers are a help. regards steve

What I'm trying to ask is, when you are designing websites with content that takes up a lot of space like audio and videos, how can you do this from one computer without running out of room on your hard drive - all files that are on the website are mirrored on the hard drive and as far as I know this is a necessity. I am working on my third website and I update them all from this computer. How do people who are webmasters deal with this issue? Thanks a lot for your input and I hope this question is clear enough.

how can i speed up a computer with Windows XP professional Version 2002 OS, Intel Celeron Processor, 433Mhz, 64.0MB RAM.
it takes about 15 mins to log in to the YAhoo messenger, long starting up time before it can be ready to use, whenever i click the Internet Explorer Icon, the window takes along time to show up.. im just afraid if i install the printer, scanner and anti virus software, it will even be much slowwer..any suggestions? what harddrive will im going to add for this? the processor? the motherboard or shall i add up more memory to it? i know the internet connection is not a problem ..it's just the way my computer runs..and pls take note that this is a newly acquired computer..and when i scroll the webpage, it seems that the page is so heavy, it doesnt synch with the cursor

I want this computer to run properly so that eventually it will be a user friendly computer for my senior citizen parents to use the MS office because im going to give it to them when i move out

I'm trying to find a place where I can get the URL for The Hampster Dance. (One of my fave songs; makes me want to jump around like a maniac ^_^) I want to put it on my MSN Space (They changed it to Windows Live Spaces but I still call it my MSN Space) and to do that the URL has to end with .mp3 . Nothing else, otherwise it will not work. (-_-') Can one of you help me to find the URL? THANKS!

Ok so I've tried everything I could try (ending explorer.exe, trying CMD, and even using some programs to help, safe mode too). So right now I cannot delete this dll I have. Ill give you the warning message.

Cannot delete crappy: Access is Denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

Yes it is called crappy because I thought renaming it would help.

This DLL was part of my old firewall (which i deleted yesterday because it caused internet problems and wouldent open)

Also for a note to put in, i've tried using another firewall to block this but it failed.

GOT MY HP DV500OT 1.83 CORE DUO, 1 GB RAM "LAPTOP" A MONTH AGO, IT CAME WITH XP MEDIA CENTER. LATELY I HAVE SEEN THAT IF MY START MY PC AND DIRECTLY PLAY A GAME, OR SURF THE NET, I HAVE NO PROBLEM, BUT THE MOMENT I OPEN MY COMPUTER, THE LAPTOP STARTS MAKING A HUMMING SOUND AND THE CPU USAGE SPIKES UP TO 100 % AND STAYS THERE, EVERYTHING BECOMES DEAD SLOW.....TASKBAR SHOWS MEMORY USAGE AT AROUND 280 MB, .....SO I HAVE TO RESTART WINDOWS AND ITS BACK TO NORMAL UNTIL I OPEN MY COMPUTER AGAIN....
