i switched it to MP3 by renaming it and now whenever i try to burn it, it says "unsupported media type". Is there ANYWAY i can get around that and burn the c.d?

Maybe you could try converting the WMA file to MP3 instead of renaming it.

Choose "make a playable disc" on you burner software. It should convert it to play in any player.
