if you are not paying for your music it is ILLEGAL if you are downloading music from a signed band. if you are downloading music from an unsigned band it is totally LEGAL. also, try FrostWire instead of LimeWire. FrostWire is heavily based on LimeWire, but FrostWire is free and also contains many features found in LimeWire Pro. Get FrostWire here: http://www.frostwire.com/

no, limewire is legal. But downloading licensed material is illegal. So if you download a song that is licensed, like "freebird" by Lynard Skynard. then it is illegal. but you wont get in trouble for downloading music cause so many people do it. I have cop friends and they monitor limewire downloads for "innapropraite material"

downloading music is fine to do

As I understand it.Limewire is perfectlly legal.but to download copyright material is illegal, unless you pay for it. I dont know if this is true, but I believe if you dont share your file i.e. allow them to be uploaded it is very difficult to be caught.

If you're in the U.S., it's illegial to download music. In Canada, it IS legal, however. Depending on your country the laws may be different.
