Do i have to reload ;dos; onto the system or is it still there somewhere? I thought that when i put the floppy disc in, it automatically starts loading. is this true? if not, what do i do please? all answers are a help. regards steve

Win 95, eh? Don't you think, even possibly, that it may be time to upgrade?

Sorry, I'm not clear what has happened here. You say Win 95 got 'wiped off' so how have you restored it - from CD-ROM or loads of floppy disks?

If Win 95 has been successfully reloaded then dos will be there - in fact Win 95 sits on top of dos.

I would not recommend that you should carry on using Win 95!! It is well out of date and no longer supported by Microsoft.

I agree with tonyinspain's answer but I dont think theres anything wrong with win 95. Sometimes I think of reverting to it. Simpler and a hell of a lot less fat, sluggish and hungry, than any of the operating systems since. You actually get to use most of your computers resources instead of the operating system hogging it all and it runs all office programmes just fine. These days I feel like part of a huge experiment in stupidity as our computers heave and puff to do the same thing they could do ten years ago.

95 ONLY RAN ONCE MSDOS WAS INSTALLED AS FAR AS IM AWARE .
TRY THIS AS WRITTEN...........
AT COMMAND PROMT TYPE DIR/C/P
THAT WILL GIVE YOU A LIST OF DIRECTORYS ON C:\DRIVE.
LOOK FOR WIN95.EXE DIRECTORY.
IF YOU SEE THIS FILE "TYPE"
CD\WIN95.EXE AND PRESS ENTER.
YOU WILLSEE THIS ...............C:\WIN95.EXE
TYPE RUN AND THAT SHOULD INSTALL 95 FOR YOU.
HOPE THIS HELPS
PS TYPE A:\DIR/C/P TO CHECK WHATS ON THE FLOPPY.
