Computers & Internet - 13 October 2006

Ok. So I had my computer in my bedroom and everything was fine and dandy. Then I moved my computer to the livingroom where everything is hooked up the same and the internet wasnt working. I called qwest and they tried some things and had me unplug my phone... the internet worked. But when I plug my phone back in, the internet light on the dsl modem goes off. This never happened in my bedroom.

Any suggestions about what might have happened?

help please?

Ok this computer I am now messing with messed up a while back, and would not even turn on, it would just go to the thing where it says DELL and load, and then do nothing... But now it is going to a screen that says Alert!Cover was previously removed, then below that it says Invalid configuration information-please run SETUP program, then below that it says Time-of-day not set-please run SETUP program.. What should i do?

How can i get an internet package where i can use my phone and the internet at the same time?

I have my internet service and phone service with bellsouth, which runs me about 73.00 a month. But i have dial up which is very slow and tried to change to dsl and was told by bellsouth the service is not available in my area yet!! This is very frustrating to me, i pay that much for phone and internet and can't even have dsl. Anybody know another service with faster internet that may be cheaper??

Can anyone suggest a good color printer, for lower prices?

My Cannon does not print so good any more, so I have given up doing pictures from PhotoShop. I just store them. I would like to get a new one, but I did so many on the old Cannon, it is probably not so good any more. I have run probably thousands through this one, making Family Albums for all the relatives, which were at least 3 books each, with 100 pages of stories. Do you have any suggestions. We are not rich, but love to do photos. Maybe one that scans too.

I was downloading some music, and a song I downloaded had a file attached to it, its a jpg that wont open, wont delete, wont cut, wont move, wont do anything help plz need to get this dam thing gone.

How do I watch and burn films I have downloaded from Ares?

I have a new pc and have never had a dvd burner before. I have downloaded some films from Ares but cannot get them to play on my pc either by using the library or Real player, its strange because both facilitate clips shorter than 20 minutes. I would like to know what I need to download to make these films watchable and what will enable me to burn them. I want something that I don't need to pay for! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
