Messy ~ PLEASE!!!

BUNCH OF WIMPS OUT THERE!! NO WONDER THESE COMPANIES RIP US ALL OFF SO EASILY!!!

This is a copy of my reply to another another question.

They've marked down the printers so low because, they rip you off "big time" selling you their "like gold" ink/cartridges!!

Anyone telling you that you won't be able to get the same quality of print is not true. If you follow the directions precisely, refilling your used cartridge is just as good as a brand new one and you can refill the same cartridge anywhere from eight to twelve times.
I was able to refill one of my cartridges up to twenty times, before it gave out, but that normally is very rare.

Cartridges ARE NOT FRAGILE!! You only need how to read and follow directions and you'll be able to refill both your black and color cartridges for a couple of dollars vs. paying $30. or more per cartridge. That's why there's such high demand for used cartridges from these office supply stores because, they can make a huge profit if you return your used cartridge to them!

IT'S HIGHWAY ROBBERY!! :~)

NO!! IT'S NOT HARD AND IS NOT MESSY EITHER IF YOU WEAR GLOVES AND DO ALL THE REFILLING IN THE SINK. ANY SPILLS, JUST RINSE WITH WATER!!

Of course it's not hard, i refill quite often and of course it works! Follow the instructions and it should be OK. But make sure you don't refill until it's full or overload. Refill until 3/4 then it's OK to prevent the ink leak out from your cartridge(s) and spoil your whole printer. And you can not refill more than 3 times per cartridge. After 3 or 4 times you must buy a new one. Refilling many times will affect your print quality.

Yes, it's hard and it's messy, and it's iffy. I got frustrated with it, especially for ink-jets. I bought an HP LJ 4 in 1992 and it still works perfectly. And the cartridge is good for at least 5000 sheets, so it's worth just buying a replacement.

Ink jets are a different matter. Color is cute, but ink jet refill kits don't yield photo quality, and some of them are just programed to fail. And photos are better with dye-sub anyhow.

It's always worth a try --- and having a re-fill kit can be handy at 11 pm when the kid's (or your) homework assignments are due the next morning. Cuz all printers have desperation meters on them...

Good luck, and don't spill it on the carpet....

of course you need new ink, but refilling is not such a good idea. it is extremely messy and the ink stains the clothes. an easier approach is to just buy new cartridges and take the old ones out, rip the plastic and slot in right colours. but refilling does has a small impact on the environment saving resources.

I have heard that those things leak. I don't mean to sound like a commercial but just follow the instructions in the owners manual. If it says "use only genuine ink cartridges" then use only genuine ink cartridges. It's a lot cheaper than buying a new printer.

I would never refill my ink cartridges BUT I've read that the process is getting easier and less messier - to the point that several companies have opened franchise stores which refill your ink cartridges without mess or fuss.

in simple terms approximately all present day printer cartridges have a sensor chip interior. If it quite is tripped already, you will could desire to purchase a clean cartridge or reset the chip on the previous one (very not common to do). in basic terms very detrimental human beings in third international countries worry to fill up an ink cartridge. No offense. Over here interior the States they have fill up centers, for $12 or much less they fill up the cartridge and reset the chip.

It is depend on cartridge make.
- Canon, Brother - extremely easy to refill - no mess at all because of cartridge structure - 100% success rate.
- HP, Lexmark, Dell - same process and still easy to refills - high success rate.
- Epson - don't refill - much cheaper to get compatible and there is medium refill success rate - and they might leak.

My suggestion is to review refill instruction for your printer first then decide if it’s too much headache. You can find instructions at http://fillserv.com/support/refillinstructions.php

One thing is for sure you can save a lot with refilling!
