do you mean how can you access IM if you are not on your computer? your questions wasn't asked correctly..lol..you said if you are on your computer and not home...then said another computer...unless there was suppose to be a question mark after the first sentence...i was a lil confused at first but anyways...
depending on what messenger you want...like AIM offers AIM express where you dont have to download anything and can use AIM Express just for a one time use, although it doesnt have all the features as your version at home...and yahoo and msn...if they are downloaded on the computer you are using, you can simply put your user name and password in (be careful that you dont save it into that computer for privacy purposes) and be on your way to messaging...however neither program has a express version you can access if the messengers are not downloaded on the computer

If you mean accessing your yahoo or msn messenger from a different computer, you can only do that if they have the program on the computer as far as I know. If they do, you just start the program and log on as usual.

Some programs let you access your IM with just a phone line. Check with the ISP site you are using ( microsoft, earthlink).

You sign in just like you would at home! You may have to log out the user if their messenger is set to auto logon.
