I recently downloaded BitTorrent. Now I searched a file and want to download it via BT. It shows up in the BT window, but hasn't started. I noticed that it says Checking For Firewall in the bottom right corner. Though, I have no firewall up. It has been stuck there for 10-15 minutes. The interface is not frozen, because all the commands in BT work fine, but it is stuck on that step. What should I do to fix this?

I tried to rotate a picture and it gave me that stupid warning about "you might permanently reduce the quality" 100 times, so I finally set the checkbox for "don't ever show me this message again." But then, I screwed up and clicked "no" at the prompt, and now the program refuses to ever rotate any images at all. Anyone know where the registry key is to put this back as it was?

The wifi I'm on blocks P2P programs and the downloading of torrents. There are things from both I would like to get. I've tried proxy downloading of torrents, but even if I get the tracker I can't actually download the file. I'm mainly wondering if there is a way I can have the torrent downloaded on a remote server then download the file strait to my computer. So if there is any way to download torrent files without actually using a tracker, etc then that'd be cool. I don't have another server to use to make any of this happen, so if that's the way to go I'll also need to know a web server somewhere that would offer this sort of service. I have a feeling that this just isn't possible, but if it is then that would be awesome.

I have read several recommendations for using Firefox browser. Is it better than internet explorer? What about anti-virus... I've recently installed Firefox, but my anti-virus program does not apply to this browser, only to the i.e. Any input?

Someone nice out there sent me a really good yahoo answer...I saved it. I saved it by clicking onto their avatar and saved it from that screen. Now that I've saved it, how do I find it to go back to it? I downloaded the yahoo toolbar like it told me to. Please help...thank you.

This guy has hacked my favorite online game's private forums. He replaced the website with a nasty message because he's mad at the GM's and players. Isn't that against the law? It's pretty obvious who it is, can't they call the police on him for it or something? What would you do if it happened to you?

Most computers I have used have taken at least 3 minutes to get to the Windows logon area and then have taken 5 minutes to load up Windows fully after the password has been entered.

Think how much electricity this wastes. It also takes 3-5 minutes to shut down the average computer. Multiply this waste by the number of computer owners in the world and you have a massive wastage of electricity - something we're in short supply of any way.

I wonder how many tonnes of coal/fossil fuels have to be burned to power up/down all of the computers worldwide?

So Im looking on ebay and I find guitars and xbox 360s that are supposedly confiscated by the police/government and are in perfect condition yet the price on them is only like $20. This seems ridiculous, but Im pretty sure that you have to sell things in the exact condition it says they are in otherwise you get into alot of trouble with ebay.

I guess my question is are these auctions too good to be true? Can you really get a working xbox 360 for $20 or is it a big gamble?

Used an old computer to access my email, message pop up saying that the internet explorer version is out of date, asked to switch my yahoo to the old version, I clicked yES, like an idiot, and now wherever I access my email, it has the old verison on it.

It's killing me, HELP.
