That last answer was interesting, not true of course. Now you said can, will yes they can, they can also get you for stealing those little shampoo bottles out of hotel rooms, but not likely. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

YES!!!

The Business Software Alliance wants you to pay the LEASE for your use of any of their member's software products! So, they are monitoring online, and can actually see whatever you run in a system, because one of the BSA members is MICROSOFT CORPORATION, a multiple convicted FELON on three continents, who certainly knows all the ways to break the law!
(Their Probation was recently EXTENDED for THREE MORE YEARS!!!).

So, Microsoft embedded BACK DOORS to get into your system, very easily, and to see all those programs that are in the 'registry', so that U.S. Marshalls can come to your door with a warrant, and charge YOU with THEFT of IP!!!

Solutions??????

Well, Microsoft Corporation at the Redmund Campus, all their routers, servers, lab tools, development systems, Microsoft.com, Hotmail.com, and MSN.com all run on 45,000 Linux computers!

Linux is:
1. FREE and comes with the Source Code!
2. runs 50X FASTER than Microsoft, on the same hardware!
3. Totally exempt and immune to the 150,000 "Microsoft Virus Definitions"!!!
And, there are about 199,000 MORE reasons that the Fortune 500 corporations, all MY friends and family, schools and businesses, churches and Non-Profit organizations run Linux!

Just try it for FREE, and get yours, HERE: http://pclinuxos.com

Yep, it LOVES external drives, and I am running THREE 80 Gig drives, on FireWire 400, each formatted for a different FileSystem, A. FAT32, B. Linux EXT3, C. Mac HFS+ !!!
