if you mean by unpluging the first thing and pluging in something else then NO you dont lose your first thing, there is a program installed on your computer for it now that you have used it and it should pick up when that device is pluged in again.... you can actually go out and buy a usb adaptor at like radio shack or staples maybe wall*mart or any computer store and it plugs into your usb port and then divides into 4 or 5 or 6 more usb connections depending on which you buy...anyway.. hope that helps

Add what you want, connect, disconnect, whatever you want is ok. Things such as printers will more or less need a dedicated USB port if you print a lot. The one thing that may find out is that you don't have enough USB ports with all the things you can plug into them these days. That's when you get a hub or a card to install to add more USB ports.

There is a thing called a USB port expander. You can get them at electronics stores like Radio Shack. They let you plug into many things into the same port at the same time. They don't cost much!

Good LUCK!

Yes there are USB hubs. Many devices can be connected to the same port. The computer sorts them out. There is a limit on how much power they can draw. If the devices are not self powered and there are many of them you may need a powered USB hub.

You can install almost anything you want - as many times as you want - in as many USB ports as you want.

Cheers! =)
