I'm trying to get my learners permit.Everyone I know is always saying "driving carefully and defensively"these same people also never stop complaining about how slow someone is going or how stupid they are because they are going slowly and or just not as fast as us.It seems kinda hypocritical.Another person (an older, wiser person) who drives a cab for a livng, told me that Everbody who drives is just worried about getting where they want to go fast and they don't want to share the road with anyone.WTF.

I though it was common knowledge to turn on your lights while driving in fog, or rain, or at dawn and dusk. I also thought we were all taught to do this in drivers ed. I wish the cops would pull these people over and teach them a lesson before they cause a wreck and seriously injure themselves or someone else.

I live in a residential area in northern Delaware. 98% of the people I see drive by my house are driving a lot faster then the 15 M.P.H. speed limit posted. Why do people drive these days showing no concern for law, and the possible accidents due to attitude?

According to the Highway Code, amber always means 'stop'.
But my driving instructor is adamant that when amber is flashing at a crossing, you can go on providing the way is clear. Helpfully the HC doesn't even mention flashing amber!

I have pointed this out to him, but he says that were I to wait for the lights to change to Green, the examiner would mark it as a mistake.

So can someone confirm what is the correct rule? And perhaps explain why the Highway code is apparently giving out duff information?

Well I'm 17 and I just started driving more w/ my permit. I'm at a stop sign and I'm about to make a right. The thing is, I thought it was a two way street. So I turn and all I see is a guy behind me fall off his motorcycle and he wasn't hurt because he got right back up but I was in shock and I felt so bad. My mom who was w/ me didn't see the guy coming so she didn't think it was my fault. Well anyway I drove off and my mom took over after but I just felt so bad. What would so have done in the situation and could I face any legal trouble??? Thanks

My wife's sister's family was hit by a VW in a Toyota. The family of five is a family of four now. She's "with child" again (and yes they will have another baby girl). What did they buy to replace his totaled car? (1)The biggest, tallest, heaviest hunk of iron he could wrap his family in to protect them. Hell with the gas! (2) He chose not only something to be 'above the accident' but something that will carry them all in safe, roomy comfort. Call him selfish, but he has his OWN child's grave to visit because he WASN'T driving an SUV. I'm buying a new car on Tuesday. It's a 41 mpg Toyota Corolla with a hundred airbags. Call me frugal, call me green, but here in CA with all the illegal, unlicensed drivers, call me scared but too broke to buy and maintain something big enough to protect my family. By the way, her brother-in -law hates off roading but loves his family. Luckily, I like little cars.

I work at our family owned gas station and it is aggrivationg to have to repeat myself everytime a custome comes in to get gas. I observe the same thing everyday:
1. Customer parks at gas pump, opens gas tank, removes gas nozzle from pump and place into gas tank,
2. customer then turns to pump and starts pressing buttons.
3. Customer comes into store and asks us to turn on the gas pump.
A."I'll stand here while it pumps and when it shuts off i'll pay you."
B. "I'll leave you my wallet."
C. "I dont know how much it will hold and i want to fill up, but i dont want to use my credit card because i want to purchase some things inside."
D. "Jut turn the pump on."
The sollution: use your card at the pump and inside ( 2 transactions), or prepay an amount (i.e.-if you are in a truck...prepay $50 or $100 and whatever amount your truck doesnt take, we will give you your change. i cannot cover everything because i am running out of letters i can type. questions? please ask!

How do LA residents cope with such horrible incidents of road rage? There's been shootings and people are constantly chasing each other on the freeway for numerous reasons. I've never seen anything like it in my life. The human population in LA completely disgusts me when these assholes get on the road. They have no consideration for human life.

An 11 yr old ridin a motorized scooter apparently lost control of the device and collided into the side of my vehicle. A police report was made and he was taken to the hospital as procedure, he had a scraped knee. I observed him across a stop sign and stopped completely. Then when I proceeded cautiously....out of nowhere he obviously ran into the car. Another motorist witnessed what happened and agreed with my argument which stated "he ran into the car." I would like to further this case but I'm not sure if I have a chance. I am well aware that motorized scooters should not be operated on streets, highways, parking lots and sidewalks. My car sustained a minor dent above the front left wheel and I would like to be compensated for the damage and the stress I'm currently undergoing.
