I though it was common knowledge to turn on your lights while driving in fog, or rain, or at dawn and dusk. I also thought we were all taught to do this in drivers ed. I wish the cops would pull these people over and teach them a lesson before they cause a wreck and seriously injure themselves or someone else.

If they don't get pulled over, it's only because they have not been spotted by the police yet.

If they are spotted, they most definately will get pulled for the obvious reasons that you have pointed out.

They other people who should be pulled are the nitwits who put rear fog lamps on in the rain.

They will be safe and seen but everyone behind them is totally blinded.

I almost pulled out in front of a white van in a blizzard once. I noticed his black grille at the last minute. I don't really get how cops ignore all the bonehead things people do. You know those driving lights in your bumper/front spoiler? Illegal to use them in town. Cops don't care. I've seen cops turn on their emergency lights to go through a red light and get to Subway. That's what's important.

That's a very good question. I would tend to believe it's because they CAN'T SEE THEM! LOL! I always turn my headlight on during the day now, even when it's sunny. But now I drive a lot of two lane road and it's a good idea anyway. One time, while my husband was driving his 18 wheeler through no-place Kansas, a small town cop stopped him and asked WHY he had his headlights on. My husband replied, "You saw me didn't you?" he grudginly let him go.

Yah. but there is always an exception especially for those who doesn't get caught. riving in the fog is everyone's risk. but, maybe, they have a very important things to attend or they are lazy enough not to halt during this times.

I agree with you. That's the way it is supposed to work. I guess that the cops figure it may be more dangerous to pull them over, than to just let them go. It's their call. good luck.

Where's a cop when you need one???? That is soooooooooooo dangerous! You should be required to have a brain in order to get a drivers license.

I use my lights. I assume they don't have time or don't drive in the fog themselves.
